I believe that the visisub is a rebranded sublijet.

Yes, they are the same ink just re-branded.

Does that mean that you can swap over an empty sawgrass cart with a visisub one and the ink is 100% the same? A little cheaper in price especially with the DSF discount at the moment.

Why would Sawgrass create a different brand name for the same ink yet not market it? Is CG the only supplier?

Maybe the idea is to become its own competitor thus saturating the market with its own products and taking the lions share of the market, just a thought.

That is the obvious answer but I don't know anyone apart from CG selling these which has always made me think it was cheaper Chinese knock-off inks. I am still unsure whether it would be a good idea to put these into a Ricoh straight after Sublijet-R inks hoping the same ICC profile will stand up. Anyone?

BMS hit the nail on the head in this thread:
http://www.dyesubforum.co.uk/vbforum/sh ... -Sub/page2
Look at this another way JSR. If you do buy a Visi-Sub system then you're unlikely to buy another "brand" of ink so it builds loyalty (or ties you to that supplier).
The Visisub brand was devised by Octitech who became Marvelpress. Anyone else selling the inks will have initially been setup as sub-distributors under them. I'm not sure if that's still the case.
