Following on from another post on here, somewhere, Prestige have announced price increases, just got this email from them
Dear Customer,

Further to our recent announcement that Gildan will be increasing their pricing on the 4th October, we have now been informed that other brands will also be increasing their prices.

Fruit of the Loom, Result and the Russell Europe brands will also be increasing their prices by approximately 5%.

As a consequence, price changes for all brands listed above will come into effect on 18th October 2010.

Despite facing the same pressures, all the other brands have indicated that they are going to be holding their prices until the end of the year, with all increases coming into effect on 1st January 2011.

We will be uploading all the new prices on to our website by Friday 1st October 2010. We will follow this with an October Price Booklet.

Kind regards,

PRESTIGE LEISURE UK TEAM
Just thought I'd pass it on :)

And few days ago the news was UK's economy growing faster than expected, after announcing all the spending cuts and tax increase in the near future... what a load of bs, clearly the government has splashed out on some top statisticians. Still early days and I'd rather not judge on the new government yet but hell being treated like idiots with silly numbers and "positive" news don't score highly on my card.

My money is that we're heading towards to a double-dip recession.

Lowest new mortgage figures last month, housing market still down, economy growth was actally down as they had lowered the prediction a few months ago. Banks still not lending, unemployment expected to grow by over 1 Million. You bet we're heading for a double dip recession soon.
