Hi Dave,
Several of the main distributers, us included, sell business start up packages so if you don't have any luck buying second hand then let us know. Are you looking for flat bed items or mugs or both?
Just one word of caution when buying second hand on the printer - make sure you get a perfect nozzle print before parting with your money. I think from memory Justin had a photo 1400 for sale recently - has that gone now Justin?

Hi. I am looking for both and was planning on buying a new ricoh gel printer.
I am also considering two used Aadkins units that are for sale.
I will be looking for blanks also, so any surplus stock will be considered.

I still have the Epson 1400, it may be ok as a fully working printer but not having tested it I would only sell as spares/repairs as it got smashed in transit.
Which Adkins presses are you looking at?

it is the Aadkins Professional Swing Heat Press T shirt printing on ebay, there are two for sale at £470. Don;t know if this is a bit steep?

Maybe a little expensive but Adkins do fetch the money. These models for sale on eBay are the older style, the same as mine. I prefer these as the build quality is superior to the newer models. They don't have the quick release platen, not a problem unless you need it I guess.
Both of these presses are the square 38x38 platen. Personally I'd only buy the larger A3 size. You could get away with the smaller press 95% of the time but should you need to print A3 size it'll be that bit too small.
You could get a new press for this sort of money but build quality won't be as good. If it's your first outing into Sublimation it's a big investment but having the right press will save you time and money in the long run.

Thanks for your help.
This is going to be small add-on to my sign business, which is growing at an alarming rate. The machinery for this cost over £25,000. So this new venture is quite small and unless I am wrong the sales would also be much lower.

Great add on to any sign business. My last company was a large format printers/sign maker and I introduced the Sublimation adpect to them. There's often a crossover and many opportunities for cross selling.....uhm, fave words
