Hi there,
At the moment I have a Richo SG3110DN A4 printer for doing sublimation onto t-shirts, and I am just wondering is it worth it to upgrade to a Richo SG7100 A3 printer?
Regards
Damian

Personally I would bypass the A3 and go for a wide format.
Considerably cheaper to run (even if you stick with Sawgrass ink), so you will get your money back at some point (depending on how much you print obviously).

Hi socialgiraffe
I have Roland bn-20 wide format printer in my set up. So you would suggest giving A3 a Bypass

Personally I would say yes and go for a wide format sublimation printer instead.
I had a Ricoh A3 which I rarely used, great printer, just did not have the call for A3. With a wide format sublimation I can justify the purchase because, not only does it give you a larger print area to offer, but also a much cheaper price per print.
I have a Roland VS and so know how much cheaper it is to run with regards to ink.
I must admit I do like the look of the Sawgrass wide format offering, but I have a feeling I will be shot for saying that on here as there are people who know a considerable amount more about wide format sublimation than I ever will

If you want to reduce your cost per print, I recommend you get the Epson 1500W, it uses ArTainium (by Sawgrass) ink which is way cheaper than SubliJet, and it does produce better prints. Only thing is maintenance, if you don't print for a while your heads are clogged. Just my 2 cents

I use a 1500w along with a CISS and have no problems with it! I even managed NOT to take off the lid to the cartridge holder, just made a slight modification, and the tubes run perfectly!

That is my biggest concern on them. If my Ricoh blocks (not that they ever have), I will just throw it away and get a new one. You can not do that with a £2000 machine though

Well, knowing that removing the lid and using other inks (than Epson) voids the warranty. So if your heads are clogged (or have any other problem) you have to buy a new one, and it does cost (in France) €265, you chose.

Another reason why I fancy the Sawgrass 24 inch machine. At least everything is covered by them then. But you can purchase nine Epsons for the same price
