I've been considering buying a mug starter package from someone like coral graph for a while now, something for the wife to try and do from home. Apart from which package to go for the other question is.

Is it really worth it?

I've just done a search for mug on eBay and there are plenty of sellers with listings for custom printed ones for prices like£3 with free postage. I wasn't looking at eBay as a primary source of sales but with the massive audience it has its going to be part of the plan.

With every start up venture you'll have to consider what your target audience is and if you want to be different. Just printing an image on a mug is easy to do, but thousands can do just that. What's going to be different - different mug styles, different artistic approach, specialism in a certain market sector such as schools, pets... If you main route is print a picture taken on a phone and selling through eBay then I doubt your hobby will turn into a viable business proposition.

I have an idea of my market already but ebay is always a lure for quick and easy exposure. I have no problem building my own sites but as we all know generating traffic takes time. Im not expecting an instant profit, I think Im just getting the start up/layout jitters.

Take a look at our premium membership scheme, suppliers will offer you a discount, Listawood for example will give 10% off a new press, Xpres have some great deals on mugs etc.

Paul posted a video on using a cheap eBay press.
