can anyone suggest some sub paper thats good quality but not too expensive

Xpres paper, bought through BMS is £9.50+vat 100 sheets, I swear by it.

Using Tru-Pix from BMS, can't fault it at all, not the cheapest but sure as hell it's not something I'd go cheap skate on!
