hi guys ,
I started in a spare room up stairs and my stock has gradually increased i got better equipment etc , and i keep thinking about trying to grow it further but a snag i cant seem to find the time between printing admin packing items etc i hardly get time to add new products come up with new designs etc, so my question is mainly to people that perhaps have a unit and a few members of staff, how nervous where you about it, what would you do differently, has it worked out, did you have a good cash flow before you took the plunge? did you see a bank manager or anything like that or literally any tips at all. as im not sure if it will be worth it or to just stay content with what im doing from home, although parcels and stuff is taking over most of the house now :/

When I initially started employing people with premises as well it took a couple of years of he'll before getting on top of things. It was several years back and was just before the credit crunch hit. Many months credit cards were used to pay wages for a couple employees and at one stage didn't take wages for 7 or 8 months. It was a fight to keep going in the right direction but did come out the other end.

Timing was bad with the unforeseen mess from recession etc but whenever someone takes the leap you never know what is around the corner. Employing people might not be for everyone. Many a day do I wish it was just me again with out the grief you can get. There are always different options of how to move forward once you have the basis of a good business. Which way is best is often hindsight and depends on the individual.

Still work far harder than everyone I know and have masses of stress most days but even now wouldn't have it any other way.
