Morning,

We've got an Adkins swing away press and find pressing onto the front of polos a pain. The shirt can't go over the platen as it's a block so the whole shirt needs to lie flat. This results in problems when pressing back logos and getting an imprint of the buttons and also on the front having the need to raise the print area with something. We currently use a combo of mouse mats and a cutting mat, both of which work ok but add a lot of time to the process. I can't help thinking there might be a tool out there that can help the whole process? Anyone got anything better? We've also tried a cap press for the chest logos, with mixed results depending on the size of the logo.

We have the Adkins Beta maxi as well. I bought the 8"x 8" smaller platen for doing logos on polo shirts. We have an ongoing order for sports shirts so buying the smaller platen helps enormously.
The other way is to use Teflon pillow, which you can buy from Yolo. They come in various sizes.

Do you use the 8x8 platen on this machine or have another press? If it's an add on to this machine, could you send me a link to it please? We also need it for ongoing client orders, so worth investing in.

I bought an A4 size silicon foam pad for a few quid to put inside shirts when pressing both sides and have used it on Polo shirts, if you've pressing of both sides it means you don't need a platen swap. I'm interested in getting a platen or two though as they seem a good idea if anyone has any going spare!

Used to struggle on my Adkins but my Pressmech bag press makes easy work with the specific polo platen, the buttons just drop out of the way.

Very possibly, sure it's a common problem. I did do a search but couldn't find anything about a specific product...happy with the Platen recommendation from Kath.
