I just came across this on ebay.
At £2.38 a mug I think I will outsource to this guy if I ever get any orders for 36 mugs.
and only £5 postage.

I imagine this guy will be overwhelmed with orders or am I wrong

Killing the market its not worth doing!. You can also get that price from a company is sheffield with close relations to sawgras

Well I found out yesterday that parcels2go.co.uk offer £5.99 next day delivery on up to 20KG! So at £2.38 a mug and a mug being say 65p (rubbish coating) then about £1.70p to print each one. Excluding eBay/Paypal fees of course. Certainly not a great business model but a little pocket money for a bedroom business. Perhaps we should club together and send him an order for 36 100% magenta background colour mugs with the word "fool" written in 100% yellow in small print and see not only how many he has to get through to get right but also kill his ink

1. A 65p mug is not necessarily a rubbish coating, it all depends on your buying power
2. I pay less than £5.99 for up to 20 kilos using Interlink
3. Bulk printing would work out less than 10p per print
4. An oven system would be in the region of 20-30p per heat at an absolute maximum

A general rule is that a mass printer of dye sub mugs can do them for sub £1.00 a unit cost.

I have not looked at the ebay auction listed, but what this guy is probably doing is bringing the "bulk" market to the individual. As it is pretty much a digital process anyway then there are no additional costs involved in doing that.

It's his first listing for this by the look of it, you won't catch me bothering at that price.

But many will buy , ive found so many listings on Ebay with dodgy Vat Numbers and prices so low they cannot be paying TAX its why i steer well clear if I can and use other methods to sell my wares.

How can you tell the guy is dodgy? The price is not that low, trust me. If the guy was doing mugs all day long and he is on his own he could be making over £50.00 an hour, are you making that sort of money?

I am not here to defend them, but why slate someone and insinuate there is something dodgy when all they are doing is adapting the Tesco method of selling.

If its not your thing then fine, but is there a need to insinuate illegal practices?

I didn't insinuate any illegality AT ALL with this person I simply made an observation about Ebay in general from my experience, Infact I reported someone only yesterday with a fictitious VAT number. This person isnt vat registered (or at least doesn't show that on his ad). Please dont be so sensitive. Look at Canvas prices on Ebay also these guys insisting theyre using genuine epson inks etc well thats a blatent LIE as I get Genuine epson inks cheaper than most as a dealer and beleive me the cost of genuine epson would mean they were losing money. Ebay attracts those that say anything to make a sale and the gullible public buy it.

Who needs 36 mugs?
