Hi all. Just wanted to share info on a small heat press which arrived today from Signzworld (UK Cutter) which is just superb. It has a 12cm square plate and is a God send for doing odd coasters or up to say 6 keyrings at a time rather than having to turn on the large 40x50 heat press. It seems to heat up within 60 seconds and apart from needing to hold the handle down when pressing (I don't think one should but keeps popping up!) then it gets an A+ from us.
It's £109.99 off eBay and turned up next day. Olly

What is the heat like around the edge? Even all round or just a hot spot in the middle?
I'm thinking for the small rock slates save kicking the big press in just for the odd slate!
Edit, I think it's pushing it for slates, some are over 12cm Doh! still might have use for one

Looks OK for the job...but I don't understand the 'holding the handle down' thing. Surely this means it doesn't function properly ergo it means standing there holding/waiting/wasting time. I'd be looking for a replacement.

We've used these in schools. The temperature at the edge of the heat plate is very variable and they do have a tendency to blow. The lever mechanism is spring loaded so you do have to be careful. Not a reliable piece of kit.
