Ive been asked to print some football shirts for a local club , which I have agreed to but suddenly thought there could be some issues

What the best vinyl to use for numbers? the shirts are red so don't want any transfer of colour to the numbers

Also they have asked for printed club badges on the front and was wondering if I used sublimated flock or just print and cut vinyl?

Any ideas anyone , its all a bit last minute as their first game is in 2 weeks !

I would stick to vinyl on football shirts even for logo.

Watch out for the FA rules on number size and also on the placement and size of sponsor logos there are loads of rules to abide by.

Make sure you get the right vinyl for the job. There is specialist stuff out there specifically for sports clothing and make sure you include washing instructions that caters for the vinyl.

Wondered how this post turned out? Also does anyone here do vinyl on football shirts and if so which subliblock printable vinyls are the thinnest and most popular for doing sponsor logos, badges etc. Ive couple team kits to do, red one and black one, using an ecosolvent printer. Don't think I have to do the numbers as one is training kit and other comes pre numbered , hints tips and tricks on subli football kit decoration welcome, I've tried non block vinyl with an awd subli red shirt and experienced the bleed from trial and error and noticed reds the worst, done a black onwithe hardly any problem though so there are differences between the colours used too. use 123 vinyl from TMT or 3second from Xpress at 130c - colour never bleeds

Thanks, I know they don't specify whether they are printable but are they? Not done much vinyl layering as we tend to print everything we use so don't need to but is this 3 second stuff layerable then? Have you tried layering it yourself or are most requirements for this one coloured? The badge is small and a few colours so bit tricky but sponsors are mostly two colour so could be doable with it if it can layer ok

the 3 second stuff ie TMT 123 is excellent, once you get your head round the fact that it genuinely is 3 seconds, you cannot hang around or fold the previous while you wait your 10 or 15 or 20 seconds was with regular vinyl.
It layers and washes great, and its cheaper too.
just not quite as good for really fine detail
