hi.
ive started using coreldraw 12 for sublimating onto mugs.only recently tho due to having icc profile.
Everything has been running sweet.But....
If i print out a picture ie: group of freinds the picture will come out great.
If i add text to picture thats when i have the grief.Itll print out text onto picture with a high lighted box around the text.Like the rest of pic is dull then the text seems to be highlighted with a block around it.
Because im sublimating mugs i know that this will stand out like a sore thumb.
Has anybody got the answer for me. Pleaseeee

Are you using a text box or just typing the text directly onto the image?

Hi. Ill be honest im new to coreldraw 12.
I got my image on screen and used text box. I also clicked on picture and went into bit image i think.as i said im new to this
When i first used txt box i coudnt get rid of box txt was in and i fort my print outs would contain the box (never printed out using text box) and tbf the picture looked better when i went into bit image mode
While in bit image mode i put txt over picture with out having a box around it. Everything looks ok on screen.
I then saved that it and opened it up on a new page. Made a rectangle and dragged image into it. Then printed it out..
Its asif im using the text box but i aint if you understand.
When image prints out, the txt has got a box around it as if its been highlighted

I use X3 version and if yours is the same as mine just click on the 'A' in the lefthand sidebar and that will get you into text mod and type as normal. Once lettering is typed click anywhere on the clear page ('off' the lettering) then back on it to position it as with any other part of the design. If you need to 'justify' the text there should be a tool on the top tool bar. If you need to justify you'll need to highlight the text which will then allow the justify (left/centre/right etc) action to work.

It is the same with Draw 12. When you have your image on screen click the "A" button and start typing your text. I then tend to go to the text button on the main tool bar and choose " edit text". This opens a new window where you can highlight the text and choose any font you want from the list. This should sort it out for you.

I use this site when I get stuck. It covers the newer versions but the basics are the same.

it may also help if you export to a pdf - if your printer is set to mirror then export the image as is, if your printer is used for other things and not set to mirror, then mirror the image in corel first

Hi there ....i used corel to mirror image. Im a noob using corel. The image itself looks sound. But where the text is there seems to a rectangular shape round the text. No visable black lines just a solid block and text with colors more vibrant then rest of pic.

don't use a text box, just create the text you want and place it over the image where you want it
