I've been having fun trying lots of new things to sublimate and had great success printing tile. I have been using a sheet of white nomex felt under them when pressing and now has a massive indent from the tiles. Can I get rid of the indent or do I just need to get another sheet for bigger items?
Is there something other than the nomex I can use. It's a great product so soft and works well but not cheap.

I use a heat proof table protector from John lewis. Chop it into press sized bits and swap for a fresh bit whenever you need to. It has a plastic side and a thick felt side and I just press with the felt side up, then print, then tile, then silicon sheet.

Thanks for the info Cath, being in Australia I'm not sure what John Lewis is.
I've used fleece material as padding for things that only need pressing for 60sec but haven't found anything I'd be happy with leaving under the press for the longer time it takes to to press a tile.
I'll have to have a look around for the sort of table protector you have described.

John Lewis is a shop that sells homewares etc - this is the stuff http://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-tab ... eg/p238175 . It says heat proof up to 150oc but I use repeatedly it at 200 for 7 min and it's fine with the felt side up. I'm sure I paid less than that for it though :)

Thank you for the extra info.
I thought I might do a second hand shop run and see if I can find some old wool blankets and see how they go.

I use a felt pad (Nomex) works very well. I had to get mine from Germany, but you may have more success at sourcing locally.

This is a random link but it shows you what it is.

I have been using a nomex pad and as I said initially it has dents from using with large tiles and I wondered if I need a couple of these?

If I use with smaller items and then want to press the bigger tiles the indent created by the smaller tiles will cause an issue I would think.
Or am I possibly using too much pressure and should the nomex pad spring back after pressing?

At $84AU + postage of around $20AU I wondered if there was another option.

I place my pad in the press every now and then and flatten out the dents. It's rather thinner now then it was when new! Still works well though.

Not sure whether that is normal practice or just me.....

I gave it a good flick around to see if that would fluff it up. Sort of the same as plumping up pillows.
It plumped up a bit but I'm now thinking that my initial testing with tiles I probably had the pressure to high. I did wonder if I could give it a hand wash
