Switched on my PC this morning and have a button in taskbar asking me if I want to upgrade to windows 10.

Has anybody made the switch yet?

I like the idea of it but I'm very wary of all new windows O/S as there always seem to be issues in the early releases.

When you're computer is your business it can me more than just an inconvenience.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts.

My thoughts are the same as yours. AS your computer is for work I wouldnt do it until its proven itself.
I work next to a big computer supplier for businesses and they are still installing Windows 7.

I use Windows 7 on my laptop and works fine so I won't be upgrading to anything. I've tried upgrades on a previous computer and it ended up running a lot slower as the newer OS used more resources. I might be more tempted if I was using Windows 8 as many people have told me that it's a nightmare but then again I haven't tried it.

Some of our computers will be updated, but more critical ones won't - especially as I wasn't able to get our wide format printers (Epson 7600 and 9600) working on Windows 8, I can't move the computers that need those to Windows 10 until I can find a workaround. Our wide format scanner needs XP, so that one is definitely stuck!

I might be wrong about this, as I'm a Mac user so haven't checked on a Windows machine yet, so best to double check, but I think by clicking the button all your doing is reserving yourself a copy, and you don't have to install it until if/when you want to.

Yup, you are reserving a copy, and even if you download it as soon as it is available, then you do not have to go ahead with the install.

Seems like you're all of a similar opinion.

make sure you reserve a copy, as said above you don't have to install it, but if you do want to later you don't want to have to shell out £99

that said, I run windows 8 and that was a pretty painless upgrade, so I'm not really worried about it (I will however do the laptop first and trial the software before taking the plunge on the desktop machines.)

Tried to but when I click on any of the links nothing happens after all that.

Ages ago I did a little hack to change from standard windows 7 to Ultimate (naughty I know) so that could be why.
