Hi all. Really hoping somebody can give me some help or suggestions here before I go bald with pulling my hair out!
Only just starting to try sublimation printing (hobby only). Got a printer that had been used for sub printing and had some ink in there although hadn't been used for two years. Cleaned printer all out but just couldn't get ink to come through so gave up, thinking printer had had it.
Bought a brand new Epson WF-7110, no ink in. Hubby bought some new ink, but he bought DYE ink, not sublimation (he didn't listen to me!!!!) and put this in the printer

OK, he finally listened to me but of course now we had to clean out the ink of this printer.
Cleaned it out, put SUB ink into new refillable cartridges. It won't print! Printer goes through all the motions but colour won't print. Paper does show some black ink which we presume to be some residue still from the dye, but no colour from the sub ink will come through.
Anybody got any ideas?

When you set up the new refillable cartridges did you follow all the guide and make sure there is no air lock in them. Can't remember the process but mine had the instructions on how to do it.

Thanks. There were no instructions with the cartridges

However, he has read elsewhere about it. Two caps on top, one to remove and leave off and the other is the refill hole and cap is replaced after filling. When ink wasn't coming through he used a syringe to start the ink flow.

I am desperate to get this going - does nobody else have any suggestions? Has nobody else had this problem?
Hubby has had enough of fiddling and trying to get it to work and is now talking about getting rid of the whole lot! I really don't want him to do that.

Thanks for that. Our cartridges are slightly different and one set told us to take the clear plug off and leave it off, which he was doing. Yours state keep both caps on so he tried that - nothing. He had syringed from the bottom to get ink started - yours said syringe from top to get air out. So he tried that and it's now worse than ever with the printer showing that two cartridges are low in ink and they're not!
ARGH! We are both so stressed over this, and it's supposed to be the start of an enjoyable hobby!

Jennywren - thank you, but it is not a learning curve that is the problem, it is merely that the fact that the printer won't work.
Hubby purchased Epson compatible refillable cartridges, when he filled them with dye ink they worked great. When I told him he had got the wrong ink he then purchased another set of refillable cartridges because he thought that best/easiest. He can't remember if he got the second lot of cartridges from the same person or not, but
He is now wondering whether to try the first lot of dye filled cartridges again to see if they still work! But surely that would necessitate trying to clean all the ink out yet again if they work. At a loss to know what to do.
Thanks for trying to help A11kns - yes, tried that several times

Be great if you can give us a link, but I'm not sure if hubby will spend any more money on this. We have just thrown money at this supposed hobby trying to get it to work

Have you tried running a head clean with the sub inks in? Or print a photo on the best settings and photo paper settings... The printer will push more ink through.
