Epson paper settings?
Re: Epson paper settings?
Weve finally got our new epson 7890 up and running after a couple of ink recognition problems, but the inks seem to have gone down a bit already and weve only printed a few things. On the set up instructions it said to set the paper as photo quality inkjet paper but that option is showing up, only options are photo semigloss, gloss etc or under matt paper, theres singleweight, doubleweight etc, can anyone advise the correct paper setting or any advice as there seems to be a lot of ink going on the paper?
Thanks

Re: Epson paper settings?
the list is in order of ink usage, most ink output at the top of the list going down to least at the bottom IIRC
Re: Epson paper settings?
Always been told to use the "matt" paper setting. Don't know if it's right but it works for me.
Re: Epson paper settings?
Thats interesting, I never knew that. Printing results are OK on matt singleweight paper if a bit dull on some colours, we'll experiment more tomorrow.pisquee;100737 wrote:the list is in order of ink usage, most ink output at the top of the list going down to least at the bottom IIRC
Re: Epson paper settings?
Yes I realise that, totally different colours on the paper from when its pressed. Im talking about when its pressed on the finished item.
Re: Epson paper settings?
have you enabled print quality to high and not standard?
done mine the world of good

Re: Epson paper settings?
The colours depend on the ICC profile being used, and the ICC itself was created with one of those paper settings - if you use a paper setting other than the one used for the ICC creation then your colours can also shift - the provider of the ICC profile should state what settings it was made for.
