DSF

Hi all.
I have just taken out a lease on a shop in my local town to sell my printed items.
i mainly do sublimation work but I have just purchased a Graphtec CE6000-40 cutter from The Magic Touch.

Im really pleased with it and I've done quite a few T-Shirts with various vinyls.

I need to get a sign for my shop front so I thought why not do it myself. The only issue is, is what substrate do I apply the vinyl to.

the size of the sign will be 3660mm wide by 600mm high. So my questions are...

What substrate shall I use to stick the vinyl to as it is just bare plywood on the shop front?
what is the best vinyl to use ?

I would use a Ali composite board, sometimes called dibond. You will need a a sign vinyl there are many suppliers out there but I use Metamark series 7 for most of the signs I do.

Dibond is the way to go. Get it in 2m lengths, so you'll probably need two and cut to size. Get some metamark 7, KPMF 50000/51000 (depending on gloss or matt) or maybe some Oracal 651

Get your dibond from somewhere local as the P&P charges are stupidly high if you are getting them delivered across the UK as they are big....

Dorotape at market harborough - cannot fault the guys and you can nip down have a chat, take down what you are planning, and they will take you through it and supply the materials, they are well priced and very helpful

Make sure you fix it to the shop front securely!
