I hope this post is in the correct place, I have been an Epson user for ever, I currently have PX720WD, 1500 (Sub Dye very happy with this), R1900 (recently died) and 9800.
I am getting fed up, the R1900 was used for general A4 photo printing, a hundred or so prints every few days, I always did test prints got blocked heads more than I liked but recently yellow died, I tried to clean, no success, I now have twin flashing lights (general error)

.
My question is can anyone recommend an alternative to Epson that will use CISS system, pigment would be better, but all I need is GOOD quality full colour prints.
Thanks in advance
Steve

I would hazard a guess to your problems being with the CISS system, rather than the printer itself.

If it's just A4 and you want an easy life go with the new Virtuoso Sawgrass printer which is replacing the Ricoh 3110. It uses carts but they last a long time and you won't get any of the hassles.

These machines don't take pigmented inks though like the R1900. Presumably the R1900 wasn't used for sublimation printing?

Your print rate probably exceeds the duty cycle for that printer. If you are making thousands of prints for sale I would treat the printer as a disposable item.

I have found Canon MX5650 £60, very good quality for photo printing, out of the box and printing GOOD quality. this is for printing A4 Photo's and at £60 it will be classed as a disposable printer. Thanks for the replies sorry I have not answered soon, been a little poorly, all OK now.

why not use DSCL Colour Labs in Bolton for real Fuji Crystal Archive Paper. A4 are priced at .65p
