These seem to be as common as hen's teeth, but if anyone has one for sale (in any condition!) I'd be happy to buy one.
I'm looking to be able to print short banner type prints up to 20", so I'm also looking to hack the printer into thinking a tray is fitted ;)

You'd need to speak to your supplier to check that :-)

If they don't publish the price, I can't afford it .

ArferMo, I'm giving serious thought to the hacking route.

The only positive discovery I've made is there is a BY1020 tray, which looks identical to the 1010, externally at least, so if confirmed would double the chances of finding one.
But then double zero is still zero.

A close inspection of enlarged pics on the web of the 1010, and the back of my 7000, suggest that apart from probable photo detectors to sense its presence, the only electrical connection is via a 10 pin plug.
That says stepping motor providing the paper feed, along with the need for registration adjustment.
Familiar territory for me.
The possibility of building my own banner feed begins to look possible.
