Re: Full-colour printing onto coloured mugs?

Hi all, first time poster, so please be kind!

I work for a company that prints t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, bags etc.

We've always used sublimation printing onto plain white mugs, but today we had a client call us asking if they could order a number of yellow mugs with a full-colour design printed on them.

We've had a look around but as far as I can see, our options are:

- screenprinted spot-colour design on a yellow mug
- full-colour sublimation printing onto a white mug with a yellow handle

I've seen black mugs before with a white panel for sublimation printing, but not other colours.

Does anyone know of any other routes I could take to achieve this?

As far as I'm aware, they're just promotional mugs for a single event, not for resale or re-use, so I don't think they need to be dishwasher-proof or particularly hardy.

If anyone can help, I'd very much appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Justin. They need 150 - if we were going to be buying blanks and printing them ourselves we'd probably order 200 so that we had scope for failures and hopefully a few left over to do something with later, but obviously if we ended up getting someone else to print them for us then we'd just need the 150.

Hi, and thanks for the reply!

If I'm reading that correctly, these are for use with "white toner" laser printers only?

I have no experience of these sorts of printers. Is the printing process similar to using sublimation printers? Are there any specific printers that I should be looking at for this?
