We have been using clamp style sub mug presses for many years, we have a couple, but just tape up, and put in in between jobs, mostly just using 1 press.
I am wondering if you just focus on making mugs, how many presses could you opperate, what with cutting and taping up, etc
what kind of output per hour with no distractions?
Thanks
P

5 heads per person and around 60 mugs per hour is a decent pace. All depends on style of mug and print coverge/colours etc

I use 4 and can print, cut, wrap, and pack back into the box 36 an hour, without it going to rats. It could be quicker....but being a Westcountry Lad rushing isn't in my nature!

We use four presses, and can do 36 an hour - this is time including getting out of the box, applying label to base, and getting back into 36 way box and sealed up ready for shipping out. This is based on averaged out timings for the different processes, as part of a large print run.

I prefer to run two presses at a time even though I have many more. By the time I've inspected the mugs for minor flaws, cleaned the dust off transfer and mug, straightened the transfer on the mug, adjusted times for individual design, I can manage these smoothly without getting in a muddle.

one press a maximum of 18 per hour, double that for two and it leaves 90 seconds per mug to do all the prep work for the next mug, assuming 180 seconds per mug/clamp. So 36 per hour, any more presses per person per hour and its probably gonna go pear shaped due to extreme rushing.
That is of course presuming that you are counting in, removing from box, unpacking, getting correct print in correct orientation, taping and then inserting mug then the reverse - untaping mug and removing paper, cooling of mug, inspect mug, rewrapping mug and packing back in box.

Wow, if my people working on mugs drop below 50 an hour each I'm ready to sack them. 5 minute cycles to produce 5 at a time is fine I have always found. It is larger runs of the same design so depends what others do.

that's impressive ... how many presses do you run per person, what's your process, is this time include unboxing and reboxing?

If you have a five head press, yeah 50 per hour is achievable if you aint doing anything but loading and unloading a press. A single head press 18/20 is max.

No offence, but where is the quality control?
