Hello and I would appreciate your help.
I've just pressed my first mug and it's come out really dull (Just a basic 2 colour text - black & red)
I'm using a Ricoh SG3100DN with Trupix paper. 180 seconds at 200 degrees.
Hmmm.
Thanks for your help in advance

Well, you are using a good quality printer, inks, paper and mugs from a reputable supplier.

The only thing I can think of is you have printed the image on the wrong side of the paper. If you look closely at both sides of the TRUPIX paper you will see one side is whiter and brighter than the other. It is the bright white side you need to print on.

Have a look to see if that is the problem.

OKAY, when you sale dull, do you mean pale or faded?

If so then it would probably be a time issue. Try upping the time by 40-60 seconds and see what you get.

Just thinking if the mugs are definitely sublimation mugs (they have coloured handles and insides) This is what I ordered!
I'll up the time and let you know.
Thanks again for your help

You purchased from Longforte so the will definitely be sublimation mugs.

When starting to sublimate mugs for the first time its always a bit of trial and error in getting the sweet spot for time and temperature. Unfortunately you will probably go through quite a few mugs getting that perfect time and temp but its just part of the business I'm afraid.

I have asked you to increase the time by 1 minute as that will tell me if it is time and/or temperature. Once we know what it is you will need quite a few tests to get it perfect.
