I hav error code 28113 a nd cannot use printer. Ricoh say it's under warranty so will send a. Engineer Now hav had answer machine message saying oh as it's been used for sublimation warranty is void. Isn't this a known problem
With these machines and nothing to do with using sub ink
Why are Ricoh printers. Advertised and sold everywhere for this use if it voids the warranty
Any idea how I can get round this as doesn't seem right thst I should have to buy a new machine when it's a known fault ?

If it's being used with sublimation inks and is within the first 12 months then Sawgrass take over the warranty from Ricoh so you need to speak to their tech. support or your initial supplier.

The year warranty was up
In January but initially Ricoh said they cover it for 2 years so would send an engineer out but then back tracked saying because it's been used for sub it's warranty is void !!

wonder if it's worth advising users to keep a set of proper ricoh carts to put back in to get the 2 year Ricoh warranty

Well Ricoh have told me that these are not designed for this ink and using it can melt the inside of printer etc. I don't think this is the case at all but that's wat they are sticking with. This model I have seen in eBay new for as little as £100 but I've seen some sub suppliers selling for much more. Is that to cover thst 2 yr warranty then ? Ricoh say they are not recommended for sublimation I'm confused x

They work perfectly well with subli inks in, it's very much like Epson saying you can't use any other third party inks in their machines when you know well that they often work just as well if not better :-)

Did you have much ink left? Might be better to bite the bullet and just buy a new setup. That extra year from iSub on their printers is a big bonus.

When this sort of thing happens can the half used cartridges be used in a new ricoh?
