maybe a dumb question but can anyone give me a steer on how they price vinyl jobs, i'm mainly thinking stickers for cars, signs etc but small run t-shirt advice would be good too.

if anyone wants to pm me direct rather than post please feel free.

Its all dependent on you.

Firstly you will need to work out how much the material costs for the job you are quoting, don't forget to add postage to your premises and VAT (depending on if you are registered and if you include/add when invoicing out), then add your time at whatever you are happy with.

I would also include a certain amount of wastage when calculating material.

When I do it for stickers I have a set price per A4 sheet. I calculate how many I get on a sheet, round it up, add 10% additional number of sheets, multiply that by the price per sheet and then add a further 10% to that.

So if a job requires 108.5 sheets it would be

108.5 sheets + 10% = 119.35 = 120 sheets multiplied by "1p" = £1.20 + 10% = £1.32

Hi DannyD

The price is fictitious, I am just showing how I calculate my vinyl.

The ink cost is minimal in comparison to the vinyl
