Ok guy's after getting a new press I'm getting a few faint lines on the mugs (picture attached)
now after messing with time/temps I have just noticed there's a pattern on the silicon sheet attached to the press
The back of it is smooth but the front is ribbed, could this just be a fault or has it been put in the wrong way around
It is glued /stuck in so not something I have messed with!
Anyone had this before?





Just looking at it a bit more.... is this the heating element?

Can you take a pic showing which press it is please
Did you buy it new, or used and where from?
What time/temp are you using?

Could you have overtightened the heat blanket? Putting a blank mug in it after pressing will prevent the blanket springing shut and creasing the blanket.

This is the press.... got it new from a company over in North Wales that had 2 unused, time/temp 200/200, I have gone more/less on both but still getting the lines on a full print! Only use it now and again, still have mugs left from the second box so done very little with it.

I have tried it both with very little presser and tight but still the same, I think I might just drop them a email

Thanks for the reply's guy's , I think the main question should of been does the blanket look normal? Without digging my old press out and looking I'm sure there were no visible lines on it!
Just to add, Paul sorted me out with a ICC and dont have any problems on anything other than these lines on mugs coming from the press

That's a better pic. That's quite an old press judging by the xpres sticker. Is the silicone sheet easily removable? Was it put in there for thinner mugs?

We did have one of those presses for a while, and the similar Jarin one (which we still have 2 of) gave up on them though, as prefer cheap Chinese mug presses!
Don't remember the blankets being ribbed like that though - I'd give them a call at Adkins directly.

Inside.... I'm sure this would work better if it was the other way around but it doesn't look like it can be turned with it being fixed at one end

To be honest mate I'm thinking of getting my cheap press out as that work fine, will have a look for some contact details now and drop them a quick email

Very old press now, had a go with one years ago and couldn't get on with it.

A silicon wrap around the mug will probably solve the issue, might have to increase time / temp a bit. Another thought is...can that creased bit be removed?

Are you sure the ribbed bit is the element and not just an extra piece of silicone to use depending on mug size used - it's what I'd assumed, as I couldn't work out why it was a flappy/loose bit otherwise.
