I bought 1000 of eBay for £23.99, so they worked out at £0.2399 each.

I have had a look, but a lot of them are silly prices. But might have a deeper look.

Anything really to reduce costs is welcome!!

is it easy to transferr the address to the thermal printer? I think that the reason why I went to the all in one type paper, is that I can print the whole lot, well except the actual 2nd or 1st iamge, onto the page and as I run 100 at a time to print the 2nd class image, which I can just tell it to print and let it get on with it, I found that saved me time.

I was cut and pasting the addresses onto a sheet of sticky labels, then printing out the invoice/packing slip, sticking the address on, the 2nd class image and then my return address on the back. Now yes I still have to put the address on th efront, but I just peel it of and stick it on.

There's software for doing batch/CSV imports for label printers - we haven't gone this route though yet - we either copy/paste, or just write on the labels with a pen - we have a pile of labels with no address printed on them, but do have the PPI stuff on them, our logo and return address.

Hum, me thinks I will leave it for now, and continue the way I am doing things. It is less time consuming, I just tell it to print, and it does it.

When I want to add the 2nd or 1st class PPI then as I said I just put a batch in the printer, and let it get on with it. I also print on the reverse with my advertising etc, so maximise the use of the paper, again set that to go and let it print.

As for the ink costs, well as I have an Epson R220 with a CISS attached, I don't notice it that much.

But, I am not dismissing the idea completely, I have looked at the thermal printers, mainly costs are in the 100's, well the model you mentioned anyway, so cannot justify the extra outlay, not at present.

Once things take off more, so hope, I might be able to look at it again.

I use a thermal printer from Royal Mail (£150), suitably quick to use as I just select the type ie RM24, RN48, International....etc. On UK stuff just select postcode, house number and enter name. Print. Comes out with all the details including my business details and return address. Labels are free from RM and come on roll that just pops in the printer.

We use Royal Mail DMO.

For us its really simple, and more importantly fast. We import the days orders from different sales channels as CSV files and the thermal printer spews them all out. The thermal printer cost around £250 +Vat but we have no cost for labels etc etc.

Once orders are packed they just go into sacks provided again by Royal Mail. Royal Mail also collect I havent queued at a post office for nearly 3 years.

Undelivered mail always finds its way back to us eventually. Price wise we're happy but we pay a fuel surcharge on our prices.

We send out approx 2500 packets a week and it takes us maybe 30 mins a day to process postage labels with corresponding invoices. Everything goes 2nd class as standard although we have other delivery rates. Customers are happy with the speed of delivery too.

For smaller sized parcels (sub 2kg) I dont think any other service comes close for UK delivery

OK, sadly I don't have a clue what DMO means, so if you could explain that would be appreciated.

I am really small fry, I only post Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Simply because it is not, at present, worth my while going to the Post Office (PO) on the other days. I am lucky if I can, again at present, send 20 items in these visits to the PO. So as I said I am really small fry.

I would love to save as much as I can, and that is why I am watching this tread and seeing if there is anyway that I can use it to my advantage.

ALL the money raised with the present eBay shop goes to a Social Enterprise, so we need to raise as much as possible.

Thank you for that.

I see that they have a minimum of 1000 parcels, hum, I wonder if they class the mugs, which go as small packets, as parcels. Sadly the only other thing I post goes as large letter, so I think I am not going to qualify, well at least not at present.
