Thanks Viccar..xx
I mocked up a white mug. Not too sure what to do about pricing. As I'm already doing this full time with Teddy Bo then it's not as if it's a hobby. I was thinking about an annual membership.....this would give you commercial usage of all of the sublimation graphics that I create, you would get design templates for all and any sublimation surfaces I can find templates for, I would also create templates for the craftrobo...(not too sure if it's the same files that can be read by a plotter!??!) You would also be able to request designs. How does that sound!??! This would help me get my own t-shirts/mug images ready too, 'cause remember, I'm trying to get into the business too!!

Sounds ace. Can we have some Star Wars designs too? It's an area I'd definitely love to get into. I've got a separate idea my wife has given me too, but I have to find out if one of the words is copyrighted (it might be).

Not sure where you stand copyright wise, certainly doing people in character like Dr Who rather than Tom Baker out of costume would probably get the BBC on your back. Even a plain Tom Baker might get you into trouble and now that Stars Wars belong's to Disney, I'd stay well clear.

Hi Gorgall. ...this isn't necessarily covered under the standard copyright but The Right of Publicity (ROP) where a famous person has the rite to protect their identifiable identity. ..however art is still 'just' hanging onto the ability to express freedom of speech..... if enough distinguishable artistic separation from the candidate can be shown....this is something that I can certainly work on...however. .apparently politicians are exempt from this as they are public servants and were voted in as opposed to being famous for their faces!!!

From what I've read it's the selling of copies of the original art that can be the problem, rather than the original art itself. politicians I believe are okay to do as long as it is in their public role. So Schwarzenegger in a suit fine, but not as the Terminator.

Hi
Images look good, use a lot of cartoon type images and these I feel would add to the best sellers. Sublimation is good, just a question would i be able to print them out in high resolution on to normal photo paper? I know, or pretty certian i can work a way around it, but just wondered how easy it will be for me.
Put me down for the full information when finished, very interested.
Phil

Hi Meldean
Thanks for the compliment over the website, although it is about to go through a major revamp with loads more clocks to be added and styles.
Copy right is a big and serious issue, this thread is not the place, someone started this to help us all with images, I am sure there are other parts of the forum more suitable if you wish to delve in to copyright, but I could not just gloss over your comments that seem to imply I may be breaking the copyright law.
We have not spent a fortune, but we have spent some money on photos and graphics. The important thiing is to try and cover yourself because copyright issues baffle even the legal profession. We do not knowingly infringe any rules, we keep records from where we get images from, and keep those on file. We have agreements with a few artists and photogrpahers and again this information is logged. I am also lucky my wife is a rather keen photographer, and brings me some excellent photos from variuos locations, she has just returned from an Icelandic photography trip. She lets me use the images as long as i do the washing up for a week or two!
"...is there something i am missing"? well not sure what system you have there, but keeping all your written information and agreements takes a fair bit of work, but as long as you are doing that there should be a limited chance of a problem.
Intersting that I have acually fallen foul of copyright issues only a couple of month's or so back. I had a listing on ebay for a meerkat clock (one of my wifes photos meldean) and just as a joke just put in the description the word 'simplez' seemed harmless enough at the time. But next thing i know ebay had removed the listing and put me on their naughty list. Didnt do it on purpose, never gave it a thought. The ironic thing is if you look at ebay you will so many listings that break copyright laws that they tower over what i did. Therefore even with my system of record keeping I can still fall foul, a sober thought.
Any way lets get back to the true use of this thread, which to me at least is that the artist's work sounds excllent.
Regards
Phil
