I have read this post all the way through and found it very helpful as a beginner cant add much except have you tried putting a straight edge (Ruler) down the side of the mug to see if it straight in all the area you are trying to print

Could very well be a heavy base to try and keep the straightness. Certain mugs will absorb more heat in that area but it is hard to tell without a photo. If it is this then I wouldn't be afraid to go to 240s + at 200c to see if it helps the print in the right direction. A mug should be okay at that level without scorching.

Hi , thank you for replying to my post , im still having problems printing mugs !
they are getting loads better , however i still have a problem with the lower bit of the mug , when i print the mugs , the lower part seems to fade out ? also some have looked almost mottled ?
Is this because the mug is thicker at the bottom ? ive tried to turn mugs half way through ! ive pre heated mugs etc , also set temp at a higher temp (200c) and set timer at 200secs !

The bottom of the mugs do drop off inwards at the bottom & this can usually be a problem at doing prints that cover the surface of the mug from top to bottom. I've found that I usually have to increase the pressure which I don't like doing to be honest. I tend to prefer having a white border at the top & bottom of the mug to get around this problem. I usually increase my time & temp to 190c for 190 seconds too which sems to work for me. Some people like to turn the mug upside down at the end for a few extra seconds.

Always try to keep your stock of mugs somewhere warm like near a radiator as this helps with pressing because the mugs aren't very cold to begin with. A warm mug is always going to give a better result than say one that has just been brought in from a very cold garage outside. This is something to think about now that winter is coming.

I'm afraid this business is a bit of trial & error to begin with but, once you get the hang of it it becomes quite easy.
