If you're printing photos with the £10 dye ink, you may want to invest in one of Paul's profiles. While my £10 ink wasn't too bad with standard profiles, the new profile does produce markedly better results for photo printing.

That's what I've earmarked my MFC-5890CN for. One slight disadvantage is that the Brothers only do up to A3 - not A3+ - so, if you print 13" wide a lot, it may not be your best option.

I have enough Epsons here that I can reserve one for A3/A3+ with its tiny ink cartridges, while doing everything else on the Brother. I love not having to faff around with a CISS or constantly top-up thimble-size cartridges.

Jonathan I would use the dye sub ink that I have been using for the last few years which I consider to be a lot better than anything Sawagrass has to offer. If I'm in Staples & see anyone looking at inkjet printers I always tell them to have a look at the Brother printers & everyone of them have said they never even considered one till I said something. Everyone seems to just look at the Epson & Cannon printers but, I'm trying to spread the word in my own little way.

Steve you would be amazed at how much better the Brother's are with the refill cartridges. You'd also be amazed at how much money & stress you'd save aswell. The Brother printers don't have any nasty chips to go wrong on the cartridges. Remember it's good to love your Brother.

I paid for it (12 delivery) and it arrived today

Emptied the toner tray which was empty so repostioned it - and still same error
So i took the full central unit out of mine - inserted it into this printer and Bingo

Working fine and printing perfect :)
