Re: New Setup
Might be a good idea to start new threads for different topics Anthony, that way it'll make future searches easier and also get you the best exposure for your questions

Re: New Setup
Hi DJ,
Old thread but its the closest to what I want to know without starting a new post asking the same question.
Im planning on buying myself a full setup today and ive been searching for a while but not found an answer that gives me enough confidence to buy yet.
First off I wasnt sure if I should buy the GXe3300 or the GXe7000, I think I will now go with the cheaper GX3300 to begin with as Im new to this, I just hate the thought that ill be making the wrong decision and should be getting the GX7000. The only advantage I can see of getting the GX7000 is getting bigger A3 prints, not sure its a big problem to me.
My second problem is which mug press do I buy, I dont need the best of the best just yet but I dont want to go and buy the DF1 and find out 2 months down the line I wish I had brought something that gives me more options, the DF12 is only what £60 more, or do I just go all out and buy the DF14, soooooooo many questions need answering .
I dont want to go and buy the cheapest option to get set up quick, just to have to replace it with the better models later ldown the line
Looking to buy a start up kit today, just need a little help from some people in the know.
I dont really have too much of a budget aslong as im doing the right thing, but at same time dont want to spend loads on stuff im not going to benefit from.
Thanks in advance to any helpful information
James

Re: New Setup
It was working great... I just don't have the time to run it the way I want to, due to work and family commitments..
Re: New Setup
I also bought the same kit from BMS and it works great - to be honest, I think thees a lot more to pressing than us newbies first realise, so personally, Im glad I bought the DF1 and 3300 package.... it took e a while and countless mugs to get results Im happy with, including what fonts look good, positioning of certain designs etc etc... Its also very hard trying to get good sales, as there are alot of people doing this for very cheap prices, so you need to consider that...I wouldnt necessary expect to get money in and your money beack straight away - but if you enjoy this type of think, then its a pleasant leanring curve!! My next step is to get a flatbed press to do mouse mats, tees, and countless other products...in fact, I would have prob gone down the flatbed press and 3300 route first, and then moved onto mugs - only because you can print loads more products!
Hope this helps!
Enjoy the ride!

Re: New Setup
Hi well I just purchased the DF14 with the gx3300, I already have a flat bed press and a vinyl cutter that I use but im very limited with designs so hence wanting a sub setup, thought id get the mug press too as then i can offer the full range. My card just declined though lol, now got to go to the bank to see whats going on, I was hoping to have it tomorrow lol
Re: New Setup
Should be with you tomorrow! If I were starting out I would go down the route of the Ricoh GXe3300 so I think you've made the right choice there. They just work without too much hassle and the PowerDriver makes colour management soo much easier than installing ICC profiles (several members here would agree). The only minor drawback seems to be that the installation process isn't as straightforward as it should be - the Epson installation CD makes installing a printer very easy and Ricoh could learn something from this. We've had the GXe3300 on demo for a while and have just put the GX7000 on demo in it's place. The GX7000 takes A4 & A3 but will take wider and longer paper with the optional bypass tray but this adds cost again.

Re: New Setup
Tomorrow would be great im really excited now
I sat here all morning reading threads, when I first started looking into sublimation i was looking at CISS but peoples posts soon pointed me onto a different path, Im sure the 3300 will be plenty good enough for me as a newbie, i can always upgrade once ive got the hang of things.
