lets say someone purchases a mug from you and it arrives broken. By your statement you are saying it is perfectly acceptable for that customer to leave a bad review and complain about the damage without contacting you to ask for a refund or a replacement.
A mug broken in transit, but sent out knowing it was 100% ok, is totally different to sending out products that you 'guarantee' to be perfect knowing full well you haven't checked them, yet are willing to charge more.
Listawood Rather than settle this in private, why not explain why these mugs, and a couple of previous orders weren't checked. I'm sure we'd all like to know.

You are picking up the detail and trying to argue against that instead of acknowledging the point made.

I can not see how there is any time where complaining about a product without first giving the supplier (regardless of who it is) a chance to rectify the matter is acceptable.

You have already made two massive (and in
my opinion unacceptable) accusations against LW and are now trying to defend it. Even now when Becki has said to contact her you don’t want to but instead want to have a public argument about it. That will not resolve anything.

Maybe I am missing the chapter that said “attack attack attack” is the best way to do business.

Nobody doubts that the above mentioned companies with have first class after sales care and sort out the problem. Nor would I expect the supplier to individually check every mug for defects.

But I would expect them to get on to the manufacturer and tell them to smarten up their quality control. If it is sold as a premium mug to me, it needs to be premium, because I'm selling it to my customer as a premium mug. If it arrives with a chip on the base or dirty spots on the handle, that customer will complain either on feedback or contact us directly. But they do complain about those minor defects because they are gifts rather than freebie promotional products. Negative feedback hits you hard in search algorithms and customer opinion who'll move on to the next seller.

Posting on forum first, establishes if anyone else is also having the same trouble, because my issue has been going on for years. Th retailer has an opportunity to show to everyone that they are willing to help. Keeping it a secret with a phone call only resolves half the problem, not the root cause.

Ok, look, I've made my points, they still stand, and I'll leave it there. I've no wish to start up an argument with SG, a well respected member of the forum, that might result in the whole thread being closed or deleted. I think it's important this thread remains as-is.

So, does anyone know of any better-quality mugs than these? I don't mind paying a premium price for premium quality.

Do the BMS premium mugs still have those pinholes on the coating? Not wanting to start another supplier bashing!

Just ignore him, he seems to get off on sticking his nose in to self righteously defend suppliers and make his own assumptions about what people mean. With regard to the mugs, we stopped using BMS mugs a couple of years ago after they started becoming barrel shaped. Even replacements were just as bad. We weren't keen on the rough glaze inside the listawood mugs and so settled down to using the Xpress 5013's and have never had any issues so have stuck with them. 99% of our work is fabric printing though so we don't go through thousands of mugs like some guys.

Have you tried Raja Webtrekker?

Also, this will also sound a bit out there, but get a couple of samples budget LW mugs. I am not a fan of the roughness of the inside of the premium mugs and I have often thought the budget version inside is much better. Obviously there is a trade off but it might be worth a look at least.

What can I say apart from, if that sort of comment makes you feel good then I am glad to have helped you today.... That aside it does amuse me that you are the one that has made assumptions regarding my comments... jog on I think the phrase is.
