Where does it say that? Christmas, poor weather will put everybody out of business.

These selling requirements are a joke though. Every high street store has entire departments dealing with problem transactions, are they going to be thrown off the high street?

I have had a few "case" open questions, and they haven't counted against me as they have been resolved. So unless there is a change which I haven't read or understood then all is the same.

At the end of the day the distance selling act in it's current form means the customer is always right, if they just don't like it they can return it and you have to pay for the postage. This now includes personalized goods. So if you comply with the law you can't go wrong.

Ebay is out to make the experience better for the customer (and make money of course), which allows us to charge more. See "Not On The High Street" for top end prices.

I constantly get the impression that many on this forum are afraid of charging the right money to do a professional job....don't be.

If you can crank out bulk and hit low profit % but make your money fine. If not do something to stand out and charge for it.

I have noticed that many of the main contributors on this forum have their market place, they work that.....and they are not cheap bucket shops, and yes they work ebay as well.

It will count against you even if you resolve it, just from them mearly asking has it been posted yet, using the question, where is my item or item hasnt arrived yet,
What counts as an open case?

For the purpose of evaluating your seller standards, an open case is any case filed for an item not received or not as described through eBay Money Back Guarantee or PayPal Buyer Protection. It must also pass checks for eligibility and buyer abuse or fraud.

Remember, buyers can’t open a case for an item not received until after the estimated delivery date has passed.

(this has been confirmed that just by a buyer asking a question using i have not received my item will count as a case, ie a defect)




also any feedback that has been revised will count, and all will be backdated to aug 2013 if you are on a yearly review.

Also anything sold in novemeber december will be open to returns until 31 jan.

I see why we have read it differently... if you have 1 case open and resolved each week....no problem.. BUT if you have 10 cases all open at the same time you are stuffed. The key phrase being "open cases".

Time will tell and it applies to all so it's still a level playing field.

I've seen the £12 personalised mugs and it's tempting, but eBay promotes the cheapest items, so if you charge more with the same keywords in your title, you are buried in the listing. eBay is the 'pile 'em high' business model.

So not only do the buying fraudsters take your money and goods they can also put you out of business by opening a where's my item question after the delivery period.

eBay you are really tempting me back with your improvements.

if you have 1 case open a week and its resolved it is still going to count as a defect, even if you refunded them, gave them another item or give them £1000000 just the fact that they asked the question to open a case WILL count as a defect.

So 8 of these in 3 months, bye bye TRS

BTW this all only applies to business sellers.

Same here really, not much we can do about it really, it is what it is, and we're all in the same boat.

i heard in the wind that ebay are now back tracking in "some" of the decisions they made...REALLY ? you dont say :rolleyes:

think they will need to backtrack a hell of a lot or they will not have any sellers left to sell bugger all that the rate they are putting, forcing out totally ludicrous terms and cond on sellers on top of the rules and regs they have now....scammers paradise for larger, more expensive items on ebay
thank god we only sell "cheapish" sub stuff - really feel for those guys who sell more expensive stuff like electrical products ect
