Could that issue be mug dependent ?? I also use a Ricoh but still do the 17 minutes for one mug at 200..
I have 6 clamps.. 3 in, 3 ready to go..

What are the advantages to using an oven over a press? I've read all the posts here but so far can't see any. Am I missing something?

Ok ..... so it could be or it could be temperature, if one oven is under 200c the other is over 200c etc. I can see this could be a challenge.

For me, it is a case of some things just will not go in a press.

I like the fact that I can get a little closer to the handles with images.. also the fact that in the 20 minutes I have 3 mugs in - I can be doing something else
I also sometimes do dog/cat bowls and they can't be done in a mug press.. but can in my oven..

No I don't belive so as I have used mugs from 3 different suppliers, quite odd though such a vast difference in timing, but hey ho it works for me. No scorching and black blacks.
I also like to get on with things while i'm cooking my jugs, amazing how productive you can be in those minutes and my mug wraps are far better than my mug press.
Although the Novachrome press seems great for a fuller image which is close to the handles etc.

Time to do something else, hadn't considered that one! Interesting point raised by Amanda about wraps being better than press, I'm intrigued as it has been mentioned a few times.

Well mine are anyway even after replacing the parts in my press it just still isn't as good.
If you are going up to the show have a look at the Novachrome press it's really good.
