You want to find an ink brand that is within your budget/business plan, but also is readily available - no point getting all set up with a nice full set of inks, and a custom profile, to then run out of ink and not be able to find the same inks again to refill with, or can't afford to.
There is a good thread to read regarding the issues of different printers and inks on the forum here ...

I am always wary of people claiming absolutes like "xxx is the best" for inks and printers, along with claims that Epson's are "prone to clogging" and Ricohs are perfect!... do your research here, on other forums, and the internet as a whole and make your own mind up as to which way you want to go about things. Be wary of dealers overly trying to push one brand/system.
Googling the terms "sawgrass epson ricoh printer problems" may be a good start ...
Thanks for that...thing is I dont even know that the problem is with the ink, the guy i bought the system off of still prints mugs and his mugs looked great when he showed me them so obvo i expected mine to look alot like his even though the pic above was my first attempt....could it be something else i'm doing wrong?? i'm using a jarin hf2200 press 200deg for 4mins....and i dont think its because i'm a girl lol

Just re-read through the thread. As these aren't Sawgrass inks, their ICC will not be correct for your inks. But, what ICC are you currently using? Did who you bought the printer and inks from also supply you with an ICC for them? If he did, are you using it?
If you only have a limited amount of this ink left, then it may be best to find a good supply of ink and replace what you have with that, and then get a custom ICC profile made for your set-up.

No he didnt give me a ICC.....the ICC profile I am using is SRGB IEC61966-2.1. So do you reckon the reason why the image on the mug is faded is defo due to the ink, cos the guy who sold me it obvo uses the same ink and his stuff looked mint

No, I am sure that the inks are fine. Basically though, without an ICC, your computer doesn't know what to tell the printer to do to make the colours on your screen to come out of the printer. It has to mix the cyan, magenta, yellow and black inks to make say an Orange colour, but at the moment doesn't know how yellow the yellow ink in your printer is, or how blue the cyan is etc. Without the ICC profile for the inks, the computer is like a blind painter.

for your printer
If the guy you got the printer from can supply you with the ICC for the inks, or whatever ICC he was using, then use that.
Otherwise, if there is another sublimation ink maker that does have an ICC for your printer (or a similar model) then you may get OK results from that, or they may be awful, but no harm in trying.
