When I had my blasting business the industrial estate I was on had several firms using self employed contractors they all got a visit from HMRC and had to put their contractors on PAYE because they were all just invoicing to one firm and were told they are technically employed.

Well, I had a word with my Accountant and she tells me that as the contract is under 100k it wouldnt be worth swapping over to L.C.
I have to have a sit down with her as there are things to check like double NI payments.

Mark, why did it double, are you asking your accountant to do your general bookkeeping as well as year end accounts?
Just because it is more work involved for them and therefore more time.

I hand them a spreadsheet (I don't like Sage) with all my income and expenses, my bank statements for the year and all of my invoices and they do all that's needed.
The bill is around £500ish per year.

To be honest the only real advantage to me of being Limited is that it makes the business (my computer business) sound more respectable and I'm seriously thinking of disincorporating next year.
