I'll check mine but don't think they are as bad as you say.

The ironic thing is that the vast majority of these are coated in the very same factory as the Orca mugs you prefer. Nothing ever seems to be straight forward in sublimation. I guess it's such a small industry worldwide that choice is limited which then doesn't push up standards.

They largely look as though no one can be bothered to take care of the mugs while coating. It's almost as though they put them on a table while still wet, then take them up when dry - so the coating is either half left behind, scratched, or stuck to whatever was on the tabletop.

With white mugs, this would be unnoticeable. The irony is that black mugs (the ones with white patches) have unprinted bottom rims which don't exhibit this problem because there is no black to get damaged.

I sometimes feel that I'm the only person who gets all of this rubbish sent to him. Either that or I'm just too picky and I should send out the same cr*p that I get in.
