Nope, Listawood charge £4.00 per box to the UK.
With regards to you, its because of where you live mate
I can not speak for Listawood, but as an example, I pay £4.50 per parcel up to 20 kilos. If the destination is the Scottish Islands then its an additional £14.00 for the first 10 kilos and an additional 75p per kilo after that.
So a box of mugs to the UK mainland is £4.50
Scottish Highlands would be £21.50 for exactly the same box
If I have to send stuff to Highlands etc then I always use Royal Mail as they are legally not allowed to charge extra.
As far as the OP is concerned, personally I would never post a gripe on here without giving the supplier a chance to rectify the matter. Its not really fair in my opinion, I also note that you are going to keep the mugs and use them for friends etc. Why not call Kris at Listawood and ask him to replace them, they are one of the nicest suppliers and are always willing to sort out any problems.
Xpres mugs are a good quality mug, but having seen the agro you go through to get the order sorted with discounts etc I can't be arsed, particularly as I have never had any customer return mugs because of quality issues. I think sometimes we subbers look too hard at the mug, end users really do not care that much... trust me, its a mug

So why are we being quoted £29+vat for a 12kg box of 36 mugs? I can get ParcelForce in there much cheaper, around £12 if I use a intermediary.
In terms of hassle ordering, pick up the phone, call Xpres, quote the discount code, job done. How is that a hassle?
Have to disagree about mugs being mugs, there are some major differences between suppliers on 10oz mugs, whether it's quality, coating or longevity of print. If you're selling locally to shops/individuals you need to be selling decent quality so it doesn't bite you in the arse.

No idea mate, might be worth asking them. Sometimes couriers "load" the "hassle" routes to discount the easy stuff. So the Highlands price is doubled so you can get 50p off the price of mainland stuff

Because I can fire off an email anytime of the day or night and its sorted. Its just easier for me because of how I work.

Decent quality yes, but I include LW, XPRESS and quite a few others in that description. I am not saying grab crap off ebay, I am saying that the end user will (normally) not be able to tell the difference between Xpres, LW or many others, nor will they care. I also include budget versions from the reputable sellers as well as the premium versions.
P.S. I don;t think any mug can beat the longevity of a LW mug

Point taken SG, but let's face it, these mugs were supposed to have been thoroughly checked and obviously haven't been. The fault doesn't lie with me. I could argue the toss with Listawood but I doubt whether it will make any diffrence in the long run. If companies don't want to be named they should bide by their promises in the first place. I think customers need to know of these issues and not allow them to be swept under the carpet until the next unsuspecting 'mug' comes along!

The point is not about the quality of the mugs, by the looks of the photos you do have grounds for complaint.
But you haven't complained to them, you are right we do need to know if suppliers are making false promises, but, by not talking to the supplier first you have no idea what has happened. It could be that a batch has been labelled incorrectly, it could be that they turn round and tell you where to go. Either way its not really fair on any supplier if you complain on a public forum without going to them first. And it is very much out of line to make accusations such as "sweep under the carpet" when they have no idea about your problems.
lets say someone purchases a mug from you and it arrives broken. By your statement you are saying it is perfectly acceptable for that customer to leave a bad review and complain about the damage without contacting you to ask for a refund or a replacement.

curious about prices ....
especially when you mention just buying a box at a time
Xpress mugs look to be about £1 each, but Listawood 'A' 1008 @ less than 70p ....
Pallet shipped for £60 so carrage at £2.14 a carton....
Listawood A generally all good, don't feel need to reject many / any ....
Am I missing somthing?
