I use a Royal Mail account (DMO) and find it excellent, but given that it uses the RM barcodes, and addressing from the postcode, it should be good in their hands. I think you will find that most people who are very active in posting will use an account. As you found 600 bottles a week by stamps would be no fun!

Just to make it clear, I had a contract with RM when I was selling on Ebay, my e-cig site does very little business and does not warrant £22 a month on a franking machine, plus my plan is to concentrate on the sublimation business (new site on its way), though may add a few vape t shirts to my old site when I get going. so fortunately never had to put 600 stamps. though I think it would still have been quicker than printing 600 franking labels as I still had to stick them on.

£9.99pm with pitney bowes for dm50....compatible inks from ebay, £5 each ( pk 3 ), no labels to buy, print direct onto jiffy bags and envelopes...no brainer really

for you, labels can be bought in bulk also on ebay for very little money

We're yet to move over to DMO and are still on OBA.
Do you find it better, does the tracking work fully, or is still in a test stage? pros/cons between the two systems?

Hi Pisquee
The tracking isn't up and running yet. On RM48 customers are regularly commenting on the speed of delivery. I guess because it is all automated everything appears to be delivered overnight.
It's cheaper as RM provide the labels, there is no ink as it's a thermal printer, can check postcode against address.
Downside....you have to buy the thermal printer which is £150.
As easy to use as OBA. Infact I still use OBA for tracked mail. Tracked on DMO requires a collection, and as my local post office is a short (very short!) stroll away I don't have pickup. This means I can come and go as I please.

So.....no great difference really.

RM told us to buy our own printer as it would be cheaper than the £150 one they supply

When I bought the zebra GK420d the discount through the RM made it the cheapest place to buy it, and when I asked retailers about cheaper alternatives and whether they were suitable for the 2d barcodes, they wouldn't commit. Things may have changed now.

That is very interesting, I was using a pitney bowes franking machine, not sure of the model, but it was rented direct from pitney bowes, but £9.99 is much more do-able and I had no idea that you could print direct to jiffy bags, info much appreciated.

Have you been delivered all of the cable ties, air mail stickers, green and red tags e.t.c I would say that the sacks would then be delivered by a local postie a day or so after. When you need more you order them through the OBA and they will be dropped off a few days later. Your local rep should pay you a visit or at least go over the system with you over the phone. We have always had very good service from RM and the OBA team. You then take the bags to the PO and drop them off at the Quick Drop normally.
