Well I've tried Paul's image as my first ever test mug.
I notice that down on the first hand side, the coloured strip at the bottom of the mug, the colour is faded slightly and on the other side of the mug, I don't get as much detail on that wooden ornament as the sample image.
I warmed the mug on the radiator (was going to use the Aldi grill thing but it tripped the electrics twice!) and the settings were idle temp 170 deg C, cooking temp 180 deg C for 180 sec, using new starter package from Listawood, their mugs and Trupix paper.
To my mind the heater band is sitting skewed so I think this could lead to cold spots at the edges - am I right?
Any suggestions as to how to improve?

It looks pretty much the same as mine, make sure those 4 allen bolts that secure the heater band are tight as with use I found they got loose and you lose pressure. Fading at the bottom of the mug may well be a taper issue, try leaving a slightly bigger gap from mug bottom to the image. I also make a point of pressing the mug centrally in the press, I notice yours is up one end a bit. This issue with tapering seems to be afflicting alot of suppliers and seems to vary from box to box and batch to batch. A right pain.
Generally I reckon the Listawood start up package is pretty good value, I've been happy with mine

Can i ask, as i'm looking to start up myself. Where did you get the starter pack, what comes with it and what would roughly be the cost?
Thanks.
Paul.

I got mine from Listawood from the Sign and digital show last year, my setup consisted of:
Mug Press with all the blankets Large latte, small latte, narrow blanket, standard blanket
Ricoh Printer A4
Set of sublimation inks
Pack of True pix Classic paper
2 roles of heat tape
I box of 36 Duraglaze Durham mugs
It was just under £500 + VAT
I also got plenty of advice from Kris and he also sent some samples of other printable items
Very satisfied with it all. I think this is a sort of standard startup package but if you are a Forum premier member you get 10% off from Listawood and a few others if you order on line, nothing stopping you ringing up for confirmation of the package though.

Yes, as do Yolo and Paul (templates) but I mean't on this type of package, you might get it all from Longforte.
