yes it was a good day, i cant get my head around embroidery, so that was a a 1/4 of the hall we did not need to stop at lol, and yes the clothing stands were huge - last year i spend quite a lot of money on the ralawise stand where they had all their "raladeals" out (unless im thinking of a diff show?) pleased with some new hoodies we will be trying, and still have the DTG money as not that impressed by the offer there (or is that just the people showing them)

Enjoyed the show really, only drink I got was off Absolute Apparel, thanks guys/gals.

Spent a while looking at the Peggys Stitch Eraser, nifty bit of kit when you obviously know how to use it (which they did :-) ) can see some money going out of the bank there.

Went to the Madeira stand, guess who got the greenhorn who didn't seem to know the products (it was worse than when you go to the Motor Show and the stand staff (I use the word loosely) don't know a thing about what they are there to represent.) all they were after was signing people up for new accounts. I don't use a lot of Madeira thread as I like (and my machine does) the brand I use at the moment.

I get so frustrated at the show, I wanted to locate what's called PS Tackle Twill for applique lettering, this is a Stahls product so went over to Target Transfers, boy did that guy look well hacked off, anyway they don't market it, no surprise there.

Went to the Grafityp stand to enquire on the product Earl Smith on here mentioned, could have sworn he'd said it was Siser but apparently not, well according to the person I spoke to.

Went to the Wilcom stand, wanted to know what were the differences brought in to DecoStudio e2 (I currently have e1.5) very helpful lady there, but again she seemed more interested in picking my brains (that's if I've got any left ) on the best way to embroider some polo shirts she'd been asked to do. Sent her in the direction of Madeira, cruel I know.

The hoodies on the FDM stand looked good, asked for a sample as I like to test to destruction before marketing, didn't get anything as all the stock they currently have was on the stand !

Would I go again, Yes it's a day out away from the machines.

i wanted to see the embroidery stands but they were all so busy i waited a while but got ignored so carried on
it's a pity because i really want to push the embroidery side of things as well :~

yes i had a little daffodil on my hoodie :D
at 1 point i also had 5 DSF badges on there
but Becki pinched 1 and i gave Justin 1

so i was down to 3 then when Justing and me split up for a little while i gave him the rest in case he found anyone

i think if ever we go anywhere again we should all wear DSF on the back of our T's
i had a T, hoodie and fleece on to start with but got so hot i had to take my fleece off
i could of quite easily walked round in just a T

well and jeans obviously rofl :D

Sharon, just ordered one from FDM stand, as well, i dont get on with AWD hoodies and fotl & gildan are my mainstay, but after a lovely chat with their president and a good look at the quality i was impressed, i love the way they are flat, due to the ribbing that they use, will help with my arm presses, etc.

GrafityP had me in stitches, i asked the guy what blade i needed for the puff they were showing - "oh no madam - you cant use a blade with it - it has to be cut on a plotter" "yes i know that" i replied, but do you need a flock blade or a standard blade "madam you need a plotter blade" ...... me give up and think i will phone them instead.

problem is most of the stands needed to be bigger so they can demo machines better, but they cant afford bigger stands so they loose potential sales, stood watching one demo of a DTG machine, where the salesman was taking it seriously to the couple he was showing "aaaah they said would love to afford one of those, if we ever start a proper business" meanwhile we were behind them trying to get a grip with it, as we want one and had gone to look at buying one. they then held him up with question after question - for a machine they had no intention of buying, and we in the end went off... grrumble grumble.

next year, choose a colour t shirt and then let everyone put their own logo on it, and just a smaller dsf logo on the front, if they are all bright green / blue / yellow whatever we should spot oneanother, but also have our own individual product to wear

I had a similar experience at the Novachrome stand, which appeared to only have 2 staff. I was waiting to ask a couple of questions and the bloke in front of me asked the salesman to explain Sublimation to him becuase he had never heard of it. How the hell did he know about the show then ?

I just picked up the Products CD and walked off.

Shame I missed it - sounded as though it was a hit for a few, and a miss for others.

If you're organising a do for next years show, and get a few numbers involved, you may be able to strike a discount with Hotels etc. I went along a few years back, to the NEC show, and the sign forum organised everything - worked out quite a bit cheaper, and we all had a cracking time after the show

I got a lot from the show, and still agree with many of the above moans.
The DSF meetup was great, the forum is a trade friend, but now it has faces!
Got a loverly surprise from PenCarrie today, - I won their iPod Touch! They are my general supplier of choice, always very helpful, samples, free web catalogue etc, carton rates too, and now a gadget! Big up Pencarrie!
It would be good to plan a meetup next year.
