Hi All

Some people have been asking what its like working with wall paper. Well I did the attached install the weekend before last and decided I would use wall paper instead of the traditional vinyl. Although it is A LOT more expensive than traditional vinyl (by 400%) it made the job quicker and easier and it is my new favourite substrate to print on. What you are viewing is 3 meters wide and was built from scratch. The wall paper is 600mm wide and required 5 strips. The sticking of the wall paper took about half an hour max (which is a good thing as there was a problem with the lighting which meant that the graphics were not started till 11pm Sunday night!). Quite proud of this one as I handled everything and apparently even Robbie was impressed. Sorry for the bad picture, its all you get from an iphone at 2AM.

Wish I hadn't seen this thread. I had put the sublimation idea to one side and was going to test the water with just vinyl on T-shirts. After seeing some of the great results its back to looking at printers for me today. I give myself two weeks to post something almost worthy.

Yes, the 3D effect is quite amazing :redface:

Can you give a run down on the product and method you used? I know I'd find it useful :)

Thanks folks...

The worktop saver is from TTP, this one is the 28.5cm x 39cm.. printed on Epson 1500w with ArTainium UV+ ink onto True Pix paper. Under the press for 4 mins at 200°c. I did remove the paper as soon as it came off the press but found the coating to be very soft and easy to mark/damage, think on the next one I'll let it cool down a little before removing the transfer paper; I just about got away with it on this one.

I have since realised that we didn't follow the instructions properly for pressing this; the instructions on the TTP site say: { Lay transfer on base of press and place the chopping board on top (white side down) covered with a sheet of plain paper. }

We actually laid the chopping board on the platen white side up with the transfer paper on top and covered with a teflon sheet... this is probably why the coating was so soft after pressing, although the image and final result does look very good.

Will try another over the weekend using the same image and follow the instructions properly, will be very interesting to compare the two side by side.
