That is correct frazzle, but that is just an example of pricing modules. As a digital download, or an online experience, Paul could set a one-off price to use for low usage users... (is that a word?.. hahaha!) For example... this month I only need to design one mug... Paul could then charge me £2 to use the service for a single download of the finished design. For customers who have a regular amount of customers requiring your services, then the option to purchase a monthl/quaterly/annual license seems the better option.

@Paul.... that all depends on your server specs, how many purchases will be made and how many customers would actually be using it at the same time. But then again, if you went for the digital download and have incorporated a time limit security measure according to the license purchased, the application could prevent the customer from using the app after say 30 days, rather like a trial version notification.

I cant charge per design :) as this is not designer :) is only to make life easier for those who printing mugs and want to know and see what customer wants.

I think i will stick to charging one off as this is the easiest way...

Well, that would probably be your best option to start and as soon as you have the clientele building up, you will have enough funds to allow your coder to help you incorporate the other options eventually. BTW, did I actually remark in this whole thread how cool I find your app?... I cant remember!

Charging by design also opens up another set of problems.

Say for instance Arko and I have the software. A bit of time finding his website and I could then effectively sit there and use up his credits by creating designs just to stop a competitor from having it.

I am not saying I would do that and I am certainly not picking on Arko but you see the point.

@giraffe... Im not quite sure what you mean? I was thinking more along the lines of say, you use the service for one design that has just popped into your head... you make the image and download it ready for printing... the server then saves a copy of that image but no-one else can see or use it unless someone finds the image folder on the server and sifts through all the saved designs. (but thats getting into other muddy waters! )

@Paul.... ok, just in case I didnt say it before.... thats a really cool app you made there!

hi Arko

What I meant was if you limit the number of designs to say 50 per month. In order to stop/annoy competitors I could sit there one evening and use all the 50 on their website and subsequently stop them from using it that month.

Unless you were thinking that you as the supplier would design the mug and not the end user etc. etc.

Either way, I think it would get a bit complicated (although a really good idea) and I do not think Paul can actually do what you suggested.
