Installed new dampers and made sure all of the joints are air tight, changed Light Magenta chip in the new cart for the original one which DID work on the original chip - it no longer works (cant be making contact) so I turned off the ink sensors:

Turn off the ink counter on a 4000:
1. Turn the printer's power off
2. Hold down the paper source, down arrow and up arrow buttons while turning the power on
3. SELF TESTING will be displayed. Press the down arrow till SERVICE CONFIG displayed, press the menu button.
4. Press down arrow until you see ED MODE, press the menu button
5. Press the down arrow till 0 is displayed, then press menu to accept. Turn the power off.
6. When you turn the power back on, the printer should accept all the cartridges and will not count the ink printed. Keep an eye on the level of ink in your cartridges and refill them when low. You will not need to reset them.

Now I am just waiting to find enough money for the ink.

Ah, yes, was thinking the other night to tell you about the ink counters, but forgot - this saves you a load of hassel in terms of not having to take the carts out to reset the chips when you refill them, just leave them in and keep them topped up as you go.

Great news, received a new LM Cart today from the vendor who sold me the refillable's and I am pleased to announce that all of my Carts are now being recognised

When I first started out as a freelancer I went and got a design job for 22 leaflets (1 design for 22 different journals). At the time I did not even have a computer. As soon as I got the job I went out and got a PC on credit which was paid off as soon as I got the money from the design job. In other words consider running some sort of promotion on posters or canvas prints. I did a canvas promotion with Universal and ended up with 300 of the buggers to make so it can work.

Set out a really good launch price that covers your cost on materials and a little bit more, tell them its payment upfront and delivery will be within 2 weeks, hey presto you have the money for the ink.
