If a little more advice helps, then I use a blank mug in the press until it reaches 180. Then I swap it over for the wrapped mug for 3 mins. When I take the sublimated mug out I quickly put the blank mug in and repeat the process.

Temperature sensors on most mug presses are pretty hit and mis, I have several accurate thermocouple's and always put on inside the wrap when doing a batch to check the real temperature and adjust the press so the thermocouple reads 180/190 then note what the press readout says when at the correct temperature.
