I changed from Brother dye based inks to Pigment inks in my Brother printer. But not before I had printed several shirts using the original inks.ordinary plain dye inks works just as well as pigment.....cheaper and wont clog up yer printer heads as pigment can....
I can say for sure the original Brother inks printed much brighter colours using JPSS and have resisted a couple of years of hot washing and hot tumble drying.
I imagine that will apply to just about any OEM ink. Perhaps try it on a few shirts for yourself before you change to a different type of ink!
I think I would seriously consider an Epson with the new Ultrachrome inks for T-Shirts if I was going to print heat transfers on cotton again.

+1 here too for dye based inks, I've just recently got into t shirt printing, both printed and cut vinyl and I bought some of the jet pro ss papers and the 3g opaque, both printed great and I use refillable cartridges from ink express.

cheap dye ink in bulk....use it for all our invoices ect as well.....prints perfect on yolo transfers.....
save your money folks and headache with blocked printer heads using pigments inks.....remember, you HAVE TO be using printer a lot with the pig inks, or it will clog...
but hey....dont take my word for it - i,m just a novice

Just checked InkExpress out and they do have Refillable Cartridges for my Epson Stylus Photo P50, which I will test after I order a Heat Press. Do you also order your Dye based inks from InkExpress or from elsewhere?Bob @ Prestige;96559 wrote:+1 here too for dye based inks, I've just recently got into t shirt printing, both printed and cut vinyl and I bought some of the jet pro ss papers and the 3g opaque, both printed great and I use refillable cartridges from ink express.

Epson Stylus SX425W, I've had it for about 2 years now so not sure if they still do this model, in fact I bought 2, 1 for work and 1 for home
