That said i think a well structured FAQ or beginners guide to starting out in sub would stop a lot of the endlessly repeated questions - or at least the novice could be pointed towards said items.
Question is who is going to volunteer to compile the FAQ and write the articles

Sorry m8 i take your point but dot agree with it ive just typed in to google "how to sublimation print" obviously ity threw up a few sellers etc but about 6 sites down i came accross a site the fvery first paragraph was this
What you Need
Sublimation Ink Compatible Printer such as Epson and Ricoh printers.
Sublimation Paper such as Image Right or TexPrint.
Sublimation Ink available in cartridges, bulk bags and bottles.
ICC Color Correction Profile to ensure that your colors come out perfect.
Heat resistant tape if you are doing mugs, tiles, or caps, to keep your image from moving during the transfer process.
Sublimatable Items - products that are compatible with sublimation. *note: not all mugs, tiles, t-shirts, and other imprintable items, are sublimation compatible*
Heat press for bonding the image to the item. If you are doing mugs or caps, you need a mug or cap press, or attachments that can be bought for compatible presses.
An ICC Profile compatible program, such as Photoshop, or CorelDraw. (Currently, the ICC Profiles cannot be managed in any other programs.)
all the underlined text were links explaining what each was ie icc profile now you cant put a more basic search in than that and theres all the info needed for a base to start sublimation printing sure there will be questions like how do you install an icc profile i havnt read that far into it to see if it tells you that but thats not the sort of questions im talking about this search too me less than a minute to find the question wasnt complex and didnt need any knowladge to know what question to ask

For some reason there is an assumption that sublimation is easy. Print a bit of paper, stick it on an item then just heat it up. You get a perfect bit of easy-to-sell merchandise with little work everytime. What can go wrong.
In reality, there will be endless fun to be had in working out what the hell is going on. Does my print look weird due to the ink / printer / icc / paper / press/ time/ temp/ substrate?????? Just when you think it is all worked out and going to be plain sailing then something else goes wrong. After several years and 100's of thousands of mugs later, I still see new issue's jump up when I least expect them.
I am with Brett on many of the new posters (not all) but it has been the same for years. People should do some research which will bring about the realisation that it's a minefield. Cutting corners and going in cheap as possible will only make things worse. I have got no problem with people who have set-up properly and attempted to understand the basics. It's the posters who ask " do I need special ink?" or "I bought a mug from Asda and it won't print?".
If a newbie can't be bothered to help themselves and do a little research then why should other people help them. That's the way I see it. Got no problem helping a genuine start-up who is serious about it but no time for the most basic of questions which are easy to be found.

Cut and pasted from the topic:
football shirt settings..........whats settings for printing football shirts ie heat and time thanks william
I posted this one because it seems to sum up the OP reason for grumpiness and I have to admit it got me feeling a little 'grumpy'. First post........no intro........no 'hello people'.........very little information. William might be a nice person but this, as a first post is lacking in etiquette IMO hence my developing grumpiness. Apart from that the sun is shining, it's a lovely day

You might be a proud MOG but I'm officially 'The MOG'. My daughter (40+ years) gave me a Christmas present which gave her some cause for concern as to how it would be received.......
.....An 'Official' MOG On Board car sticker. Needless to say it is displayed with pride........

THIS!
They go out and buy all the kit, and then realise that they have absolutely no idea about art or design, and then either just nick whatever they can find on the net, or come on here asking if it's OK to use other people's designs.
