I thought what justin was saying seemed bit odd thanks for the clarification. But as I said before I find your paper is prone to having the ink migrate unless taped top to bottom and tight. I have one design which has red writing on which seemed to get effected more noticeably than others where the red would travel around a cm away and cause red speckles or a smudged look to the lettering. But it does give good results once you start using extra tape though.

Not sure how the paper would cause this as the paper is just a carrier of the ink. Taping down would be similar to increased pressure in a mug press as the paper is then tight against the item being sublimated. The paper does release more ink than xpres paper, especially blacks and dark colours so it might be to do with the amount of ink released.

Is it not when you take the paper off, is it touching the mug again and giving a ghost effect.

No I take them off in on motion and theres no ghosting. The first thing I did was to tighten the press but it didn't help, I dunno was a weird one spent a while trying different things just know that it didn't happen with trupix and what I do now works.

Yes, it's what you get used to using, suits you. Unless the other paper is thicker so more forgiving on an uneven mug blanket.

Good Morning guys,

I would recommend our sublimation paper, 100 A4 sheets for £10. This paper will give you crisp and vibrant results.
If you are doing more photographic products however we do have an upgrade, the A4 Trupix paper at £12.85 for 100 sheets and will give you the best of the best sublimation transfers.

If you need any advice just let me know, my email is in my signature.
Have a good day

I have tried the Xpress paper supplied with my printer, a "standby" pack by Lovecut via Amazon and BMS own brand Subliclassic+. BMS wins hands down for increased contrast and deep blacks (as advertised). More expensive but I don't understand why people would want to save 5p/sheet for poorer quality output. In fairness I have no idea if the Xpress paper was top quality. Anyway I will now stick to BMS for repeatability.

Having said that.... I do have an issue with paper feeding on the 3110, despite fanning a stack it wants to feed 2 sheets at once. Not a problem for mug prints but the sheets slip over each other by an inch or so during printing, this means a full A4 image is actually printed on two pages rendering both useless. The paper is now detected as greater than A4 after printing and the front panel throws up an error to say the wrong paper is loaded !

I have tried seperating individual sheets but even with 5 loaded in the tray the problem is still there. Currently only works using 3 sheets which is a pain.

I used to swear by Trupix and it is very good paper.

Decided it was getting too expensive so decided to try the Xpres stuff and it is probably my paper of choice simply because of the price.

I did get a couple of boxes of TMT's stuff given to me the other day, gave it a whirl and have been very impressed.

But it really depends on what you are using it for. I was browsing ebay the other night and noticed 200 sheets for £9.99 free delivery. Decided to give it a whirl for a particular project (Hi VIZ) and it works a treat, tried it on a mug and results were shocking.

We tried a few different papers (in wide format rolls) inc TruePix.
What we found was that different papers affected print output to a point where each paper change required a new ICC to be made.
Due to this I find it hard to hear people comparing papers on colour reproduction with what I would assume to be the same generic ICC profile across them all - this doesn't make sense.

Compared to the other brands of sublimation paper we used (Jetcol and InkTec) TruePix had the worst results in terms of image clarity (images fuzzy)
The image quality on the Jetcol and InkTec paper were equally very good, with the Jetcol being better at holding more ink and drying quickly without cockling, although InkTec being better priced, so we put up with the cockling and small wait for it to dry after printing.

I do find cockling occurs with Truepix on larger prints, it hasn't affected my final pressed image even though I always feel it should. I have a few rolls to use up yet, that magpie thing in me when I see a bargain!
