...you know, just double checking the nozzle check pattern again....should the blue be a good blue? it's more grey/dirty blue than cyan blue

Yes Maggie, should be noticeably bluish! Quick head clean maybe in order, then try another nozzle check.

I don’t think that the low ink in your cartridges is causing a problem. The cartridges are normally overfilled to prevent you from running out of ink and causing problems with the printer.
For our standard Durham mugs we recommend 180c for 180 seconds, however your mugs look like they could be china or porcelain so we would recommend 180c for 165 seconds. If your mugs continue to look blurred then try reducing the time in 10 second steps until you get a good result.
We find that TruPix paper works best with the Ricoh’s and our customers have commented that different papers can produce mixed results.

Have done 2 head cleans. Nozzle check print looks bit blue-er. Made mug....the blue is definitely getting back to the original. How many head cleans do you recommend I try?

Thanks so much for the reply.

Yes, I had them printing fine....then this error occurred. Am convinced (which is hilarious as I am a newbie and really know nothing) that it is a printer issue so have went back to the time and temperature settings that I originally used.
Again, the paper I am using is the same as I have always used ...and having just looked it is indeed TruPix

Hi Maggie
At the risk of asking a daft question - you are printing onto the right side of the paper aren't you? I am guessing that the blue on the mug should be much richer and not that pastel baby blue? i inadvertently loaded a wad of paper into my Ricoh - look it was very late and I was tired ok ;o) anyway having printed on the wrong side and then transferred the image to the mug, it looked pale and washed out. When the penny finally dropped, turned the paper over and all was well again.
Have you tried printing another image, ideally something like a colour patch - just create a pattern of boxes and fill them with known colours and see how it prints.

Assuming you've not fixed it already, head clean, nozzle check, repeat until the colour is right.
