OK, I just had a late and urgent order come in for 36 mugs and 100 key rings. Have decided to time myself and offer up the results.
16.15 Order came in
16.20 Dye sub sheets printed and cut by 16.20 (it was only 12 sheets)
16.25 First set of five mugs on press a few minutes later 180 degrees 320 seconds.
16.42 All mugs wrapped plus 15 mugs printed and cooling by this time.
16.44 Laser prints for the key rings have been printed and cut (4 sheets of the thinnest laser printer I can find)
16.48 kettle on

16.50 Key rings printed and cut, first tray of 12 mugs have been wrapped in bags and placed back in box (mug 11+12 was a bit hot for my precious fingers!)
17.00 75 key rings completed
17.02 Mugs finished
17.10 Remaining key rings finished while mugs are cooling, City Link label printed and applied and box ready for courier to collect.
The cycle was a bit longer than usual due to the subject on the mug, but what you can see from the above (
and this is probably the most important thing to note) is that
a box of mugs takes about half the time to wrap than it does to print. So effectively you are sitting around doing very little for half a box. Now I am on my own so I will always have stuff to do and in this instance there were keyrings, but I could easily operate another 5 head machine on my own.
Please note that these mugs were very easy to wrap.
I was also running a coupe of jobs on my versacam, but to be honest that is probably irrelevant as all I have to do is glance at it every so often.
