Totally agree on the helping out smaller businesses with starting up.. we have heaps of empty shops in our area.. and they either end as a Euromarkets or stay empty for ages and look a total mess.. !! if the local council helped out more with rates/rent, we wouldn't have so many stay empty or so many good shops closing because they can no longer afford to run..

this shop rent debate would be really good put up on a separate thread, i wonder if admin could split the topic, its something close to a lot of people, getting a shop sorted, and i think could do with its own bit
